To students and parents:

From my experiences, I've learned how to communicate confusing and difficult mathematical and statistical concepts in multiple ways that can be understood by anyone. If something doesn't make sense to you, I can explain it in several different ways and customize an explanation specifically for you such that we can leverage what you already know to help make the material clicks.

I've been tutoring since I was in high school, learning effective methods of teaching and tutoring all along the way. I've tutored 2nd - 6th graders, freshmen - seniors in high school, university undergraduates, and even graduate students who needed help brushing up on advanced level mathematics or statistics.

In completing my degree in Pure Mathematics, a Master's in Statistics, and coursework towards a Doctorate in Educational Psychology, I have learned the Theory of Mathematics and Statistics as well their applications. As such, I know the intricacies of concepts as simple on the surface as pre-algebra or as complicated as algebraic number theory, and have a complex understanding of these concepts that describes phenomenon in more than just one way.

In general, to find a good math or stat tutor, people tend to look for subject matter expertise and teaching experience. However, just because someone has taken a lot of math classes or has taught a classroom of students doesn't mean he/she is going to be a good tutor for you.

A good tutor has complete mastery of mathematics, and has experience tutoring multiple levels of math to multiple age groups. From my education and my years of experience, I have this knowledge and ability to help you out with what you need to learn.

Also, I believe Mathematics should be thought of as a language, just like Russian or French. If you don't know Russian and I start talking to you in Russian, you're not going to have any idea what I'm saying. The same goes for Math: If you don't learn the language of Mathematics, you'll never understand anything your teachers say.

I know the language of Math, and I can teach it to you just like I have done for several students before.

Please feel free to contact me to talk some more about a particular problem you have or help you need. I look forward to helping you become truly better at Mathematics.

I have several years of tutoring experience in Calculus. I tutoring AB Calc and BC Calc while still in high school, taught Calc I, II, and III while in college. Since then I have continued tutoring several students, most high schoolers, in calculus in preparation for their AP Exams. As a former student who passed the AP test (I got a 5) and a former Teaching Assistant in College for Calculus, I understand the theories, the applications, the knowledge required to pass, and the types of questions asked on the exam. I can confidently say that I will be able to help any student master Calculus.

Great Tutor!

I was very happy to finally find Rao. He is an awesome help! He is knowledgeable and works in the Math/Statistics field. He reviews my class power points, works on my homework with me and gives lateral examples of what I’m doing in class to ensure that I understand the material. He had me very confident and prepared for my first test. I have a terrible statistics teacher (at my college), uninterested in the class and belittling when approached for clarification. I knew I needed a tutor to get through the semester, as an adult student I don’t have time to play around. I honestly went through 5 tutors on this site before I found a qualified one. He’s a wonderful teacher and I’m so happy to have found him! He is salvaging my semester.

good tutor on his way to being teacher in profession

Vimal is very patient with me, someone who does not have much math knowledge, especially "statistics" (and he does - pursuing his masters in the field)! He helps me by incorporating real life examples for better understanding and shows me different ways on how to work the same problem. I like the method he uses, because it helps me grasp the concept better. Plus he only charges for the time we actually work!! I highly recommend Vimal for a math statistics tutor.
