Looking for an experienced, results-oriented Test Prep Tutor? You've come to the right place! With nationwide recognition as a WyzAnt * TOP TUTOR *, a master's degree (3.94 GPA), and over 22 years of tutoring experience, I am able, ready, and eager to help you with your learning needs.

TEST PREP:
You want to feel well-prepared and confident come test day. To help you get there, we will develop an individualized plan based on your previous test results, goal score, unique challenges, and personal strengths.

During our sessions, we'll work on content knowledge, subject-specific strategies, anxiety reduction, error analysis, and essay-writing techniques to maximize your test score. My test prep students have earned point increases that have paved the way to top choice schools, college scholarships, and a major boost in self-confidence.

PROOFREADING/EDITING BY EMAIL:
Have a paper you need proofread and edited? No need for in-person sessions -- just send me your draft, I'll send you a quote, and we'll get it done!

HOMEWORK/SPECIAL TOPICS:
Perhaps you struggle in a class, need to improve your study skills, or want to plan your educational strategy. In addition to test prep, I've helped hundreds of students with college application prep, admissions essays, career development, computer orientation, nursing studies, resume' writing, study skills, and homework needs. I'm always up for a new challenge!

K-8 TUTORING:
Through observation and discussion, we'll get to the root of concept/study skills/time management challenges. As needed, a skills/proficiency assessment will help me design a custom tutoring program for your student.

CORPORATE/STUDENT TRAINING:
Do you have employees or students who could use specialized training, e.g. test prep, business writing, English language proficiency? I offer flexible scheduling to fit your needs and will come to your metro area location for group or individual sessions. I am currently working with Augsburg and Metro State Universities to facilitate MTLE-NES test prep sessions for primarily East African students.

SCHEDULING:
Tutoring sessions are typically 2 hours for test prep, 1-2 hours for preK-12 and other subjects, and customizable to fit your needs. We meet in a Bloomington/Richfield coffee shop (or online for non-metro/out-of-state students). For preK-5 or senior-aged students, we can meet in the student's home within 5 minutes of Richfield.

TUTORING HOURS:
• Sat/Sun 6am-10pm
• Weekdays 6pm-10pm
• Other times by request

Great initial session

Jana discussed my son's current impressions and intensions. She then created an agreed too goal and provided resources and had him test his skills with a couple sample exam sections.

Knowledgeable and Patient

For the first time in my adult life, I feel comfortable about preparing for a test, and not go into full panic attack mode. This is because of the way Jana strategizes my approach, and makes me feel at ease.......like....this will be fun. Thank you Jana for being you and helping me with the preparation for the PMP exam. Looking forward to our next session!

Knowledgeable and well prepared tutor!

Prior to my first tutoring session, Jana had put in much time reviewing my writing samples and researching the needs of my specific standardized writing test. Our first lesson was well planned and on target for the skills I need to develop. Furthermore, it is clear that Jana enjoys her work as a tutor. I look forward to working with Jana in future sessions.

Very helpful, very patient.

Very tolerant of my desire to discuss SAT adjacent topics before discussing the test itself. Did not create stressful environment.

Very satisfied!

Jana and I have made great progress. My math and science sections have each improved by about 20 points. We are focusing on quick fixes for simple mistakes I am making moving forward. It has been worth the time and money working with Jana. She is very well prepared and extremely flexible with her meeting times and scheduling. I will recommend her to any of my friends taking the TEAS exam!

Worth the extra money

Yes, her hourly rate is much higher than most others on WyzAnt, but she is extremely helpful and her work is exemplary. She is well prepared for every meeting and not only did she give my daughter excellent advice about essay writing (for ACT essay and for applications), but after every lesson she wrote a thoughtful summary with advice, instructions, assignments, and more. The instruction not only helped with the college app efforts, but they improved my daughter's writing and her savvy in how to formulate essays - skills that also have helped her in her last year of HS and will carry over to her college work. My daughter was admitted to most all the schools to which she applied, including some quite prestigious schools which I thought were reaches. Whether Jana's help made the difference or not, there's no question that her efforts made my daughter a better student and a better writer.
