Sam tutored my son for two hours in preparation for an upcoming IB Math Studies exam. My son said that the two hours he spent with Sam was incredibly productive. He also said Sam was easy to understand, patient, and did an great job encouraging my son to identify the root cause of any errors he made.

By having my son go back and check his work step by step, Sam was able to help him gain a greater understanding of the steps involved and where he went wrong. The two hours with Sam was a great investment in time and dollars - no doubt about that. We will definitely use Sam again when the need arises.

Sam is an excellent tutor. Our 8th grade son said the other day "I love algebra" after a session with Sam, and our son is not easy to impress. Sam is very conscientious and flexible. He has done an excellent job assessing what our son needs on an ongoing basis and creating lesson plans to meet his needs. Sam is also very patient and able to explain mathematical concepts in a way our son can understand. We are so glad that we found Sam. We highly recommend him.

Sam was able to tutor my son at moments notice and help him prepare for a very difficult math test the next day. After the session my son breathed a sigh of relief and said, "Thanks for finding Sam. I can do this test." My son is looking forward to future sessions which says much about how Sam helped him with his confidence. Thanks, Sam.

GMAT, Approved subjects are in **bold**.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

I have taught Algebra 1 for 3 years, and I've been teaching math for more than 10 years. I have also taught Pre-Algebra, Advanced Algebra / Trigonometry, Geometry, College Algebra, and I've temporary taught or tutored in Pre-Calculus, Calculus, and Quantitative Logic. I'm licensed in Minnesota and Washington states for 5th - 12th grade Math.

I also took a proficiency exam while in Japan and passed level three proficiency. The highest level, level one, is required for admittance into a Japanese university.

I was a philosophy major in undergraduate school. I specialized in logic and philosophy of mathematics. I completed introductory logic, advanced modal logic, and graduate level classes on mathematical logic and Russell's Principia Mathematica. I tutored other students in introductory logic while I was an undergraduate.
