I'm Rhett, an Honors student at the University of Minnesota, majoring in Mathematics and Computer Science. I have experience tutoring a variety of middle school and high school subjects when I volunteered for the Hennepin County Library homework help program, as well as paid, one-on-one experience tutoring trigonometry and calculus. Currently, I also work as a teaching assistant for Introductory Python courses at my University. As a tutor, I focus on being flexible to meet my student's needs. I try to adapt to what is most engaging for them, and move away from things that have confused them in the past. Above all, I focus on providing a positive experience in which students frequently experience the joy of getting a breakthrough in understanding, and becoming confident in subjects that once bewildered them.
I competed in Minnesota High School Math League for four years, consistently scoring among the top individuals in the division. Problems in these competitions gave me rigorous experience with geometry, algebra, and trigonometry.
