I am an outdoor enthusiast and lover of learning. My favorite part about tutoring is supporting others in the discovery that they are capable of feeling confident while reaching their goals. I believe that we all have amazing strengths and abilities, and we can internalize and relate to information differently while still getting to where we need to go.

I spent my first six years in the professional world as a naturalist/outdoor educator throughout the school year. During these summers I worked as a program director at traditional outdoor/overnight-based camps in the northeast region of the United States and Minnesota. Additionally, I worked as a program coordinator for Big Brothers Big Sisters, helping to pair and support matches in 1:1 mentorships. My primary age group in the field of outdoor education and mentorship has been with elementary and middle school aged students, however, I have a range of experience working with all ages of students, including life-long learners.

My favorite part of working at camps as a naturalist is that I got to be a teacher in an outdoor classroom. Most often, our science-based curriculum revolved around the natural world and learning the scientific process through hands-on learning.

After spending six months in Spanish learning Spanish, I became involved in our local chapter of the YWCA, coordinating an after school program for Latina girls who spoke Spanish as their native language. Additionally, I taught an evening adult English class for native Spanish speakers. Since then, I use my Spanish skills periodically in travel and within my own leisure to keep up my language skills.

In my time working as an educator in non-traditional learning settings at nature centers and camps, I have worked with many homeschool groups and individuals to provide supplemental learning sessions to their day-to-day schooling.

I am always excited to meet new people. If you feel like I would be a good fit to support your learning, please reach out to ask questions and learn more!
