Over 30 yrs. experience working with nursing students!!
I have been tutoring students since college and teaching undergraduate and grad students for over 30 years. I really enjoy one-on-one tutoring students, as you can make a real connection with an individual student and help them be successful in the goal they are trying to attain. I am the mom of 19 year old twins and I see how some of their friends struggled with fairly basic science classes in high school and college. I am fortunate that my daughters are straight 'A' students so far but they have worked at obtaining those grades.
I have stressed to my daughters the importance of having a study plan for each course they have. This consists of more than 'just studying.' I look forward to the challenge of working with students to develop their own successful study plan, especially when many of my adult students are trying to juggle work, school and their family life!
Sometimes I feel a student can get 'swallowed up' in a classroom setting. A student may not grasp a certain basic concept and before you know it the student is struggling just to stay afloat in the class. I once had a medical school professor tell me that 'you are trying to drink the material through a straw but we are delivering it to you be a firehose!' Does that sound about right?? A great tutor can come in and really be the student's 'life-line' - assist them in 'catching up'; provide tips on how to stay current; and finally to excel in their subject matter! I would love to be your lifeline!!
I am both a registered nurse and a podiatrist and I love incorporating my clinical background into the basic sciences such as Anatomy and Physiology. Many times students feel that A&P can be so dry and 'boring.' I try to bring real life scenarios into the context so students see the relevance of learning this material. I also teach RN-NCLEX review classes for a major corporation so I am well versed in nursing curriculum as well as Pharmacology and Advanced Health Assessment. I am one of the few tutors that will work with you to improve/increase your HESI
I just had my first session with Ruth and was blown away at how clearly she managed to explain major topics that left my head spinning when my school professor sped thorough and attempted to teach. She presents material in a very interesting, methodical and organized manner. She also cleared up questions that better helped me build my base of crucial foundational knowledge. I have several more sessions booked with Ruth and went from feeling drained and defeated to incredibly motivated and hopeful that she can help me improve my grade in the remaining weeks of the semester. Great teacher and highly knowledgeable! I highly recommend!Christina, 49 lessons with RuthTutor responded:

Signing up for more, I am waiting to take the Hesi 2 in the early part of December, and I think I found my teacher...Ruth was great for our first meeting, and we'll do more together too. She keeps it moving and keeps me focused. What could be better than that?Hey, 1 lesson with Ruth

Best A&P tutor out there
A&P has always been a difficult subject for me so going into the HESI exam I was very afraid of this section. Ruth worked with me on topics that were essential to know for the exam because I only had 4 days to study. She’s so knowledgeable, and very very patient. I’m happy to say I passed my exam and I have Ruth to thank for that!Emily, 2 lessons with Ruth
Patient and Knowledgable
Ruth was great and had an understanding of my learning style. Ruth was very excited to go over the endocrine system with me and I loved how she made me really think and recall information I was already taught and to apply it to the material being taught. She is also very patient and you can tell she has a real love for the material she is teaching.Kelly, 1 lesson with Ruth
I have find the help needed!
Ruth is an advanced level nurse. She is an awesome instructor. She is friendly, knowledgeable and helps with explaining material in a way anyone can understand and retain. Thank you Ruth! You have saved my grades.Tasha, 10 lessons with Ruth
Ruth is extremely knowledgable, and makes the content user friendly. She can break everything down to a very basic comprehension, and then builds the student back up to the level where they need to be able to articulate for testing purposes. She is very friendly, and genuinely cares for her students' success. I honestly wish my original instructors were of this caliber, these last 2 semesters would have been so much more tolerable.Candice, 3 lessons with Ruth

Ruth was an amazing tutor who really helped me to understand the content. She gave me tons of practice questions that allowed me to use critical thinking skills. She is extremely kind and patient and did a great job at explaining material that was hard to understand. She went through each question with me and explained rationales to each one. She did a great job at preparing me for the NCLEX.Abigail, 7 lessons with Ruth
