Morris university of Minnesota (English)
Dear parent or gaurdian,
My name is Nate, and I am 22 years old. I attended the University of Minnesota, Morris where I achieved my general credits, but I never finished with a degree. I had an emphasis in computer science and English. At the time I couldn't figure out what I wanted to pursue as a career, so I mindfully decided that school was wasting my time and money. I dropped out after my sophomore year and worked full-time at different places, mostly restaurants. I started from washing dishes and moved all the way up to assistant manager in under a year. I also worked for corporate for a little bit working as a store opening trainer where I traveled to opening stores and assist the managers in the process of training in new employees in their positions.
I've never tutored before, but I'm a good teacher. I work best in one-on-one situations, because that's what I've had the most experience with in training new employees. Even in high school I was a leader. I became captain of my baseball freshman year and every year since. I spent more time coaching my teammates then I did practicing or playing myself. I'm a natural leader, and I carry a strong passion for helping others.
I focus a lot of my time and energy in words. I'm a writer at heart but without a degree to credit myself with it's hard to make real money and in the absence of money grows the feelings of living a meaningless life for lack of opportunities in the fields that I am most passionate about. My strengths are creating something from nothing and in new and different ways. My mind works in different ways and I've always been able to reach people on higher levels. I think outside of the box and can see how to find solutions in different ways. An example would be something as simple as starting an essay with the conclusion first and work backwards from there.
Anyways, if I sound like a good candidate for your child or if you have any questions please feel free to contact me. Thank you for your time.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I took a year of ASL in college. I aced the class and earned my foreign language credit. I still use sign language with my hard of hearing friends and family.
I spent two years in college and took a study skills class. I know how to prioritize important details and figure out which things Just need a quick skim. I organize everything with folders and sticky notes and make great use of a highlighter highlighting important facts and putting notes from a text or reference into my own words.
