About Danielle

I recently graduated from being a professional student (BSc, MSc, and PhD), so I'm comfortable helping students at any age jump into their science material and make sense of it. Along the way, I've accumulated a variety of tutoring and teaching experience. Here are a few examples:

*I taught undergraduate laboratory sections for Anatomy & Physiology, General Biology, and Medical Bacteriology.
*I developed and taught a week-long summer program in Aquatic Ecology for middle school students. We had a great time exploring the Upper Peninsula around Michigan Tech and studied bugs, fish, and other critters.
*I worked one-on-one with a high school student as part of the national Upward Bound/EnvironMentors program, and my student won his division and presented his research at the national event in Washington, D.C.!
*I am currently an Adjunct Online Instructor for Kaplan University, where I teach courses in the Environmental Policy & Management program.
*I write biology lessons for all ages for a website that focuses on making material understandable for non-traditional students.

I have a BSc in Wildlife Ecology, a MSc in Biological Sciences, and a PhD in Natural Resource Sciences (with an emphasis in Applied Ecology). I have taught a variety of courses, have published my research in peer-reviewed scientific journals, and have reviewed other research as well.

I'd love to hear from you if you're looking for a little extra help with your science classes. Though I'm not certified to teach in Michigan, I am comfortable working with kids of all ages (adults too) and will tailor your tutoring experience to best meet your needs. Contact me if you have any questions or want to get started today!

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
