I lived in Japan as a teacher for 18 years. When I first went I could not speak a word of Japanese, and I lived in an area with no English speakers, so I had to find the fastest way to communicate in order to get by on a daily basis. Because of this, I learned many tricks as to how to be able to communicate effectively with a limited amounted of ability. My own learning progressed to now a near-native level and I would like to pass on what I have learned to others.

I have N2 certification in Japanese Proficiency, and a Masters of Education in TESOL. I have taught all age groups, from age 4 to 70. I have teaching licenses in Japanese, English, ESL, and math from the State of Indiana (currently not active). I can work together with the student to find the best way to enhance learning.
