Hello and welcome to my profile! My name is Victoria and I recently graduated from the University of Detroit Mercy with my Masters in School Counseling. Prior to this, I taught at the elementary and middle school level for six years. Teaching is my first passion and I would love to share that with you while supporting you. Through my experience working with children and my own experience as a student, I have come to realize that patience is what makes a successful student.
I first realized that tutoring is something I greatly enjoy when I got the opportunity to tutor my junior class in high school. I love providing my services to people and I love that expression when I am explaining something and someone finally gets it. My tutoring style is straightforward: patience. I believe that every student learns differently and I always keep that in mind when I am tutoring. When explaining materials in a subject, I use simple ideas to explain what I am trying to teach.
My most recent tutoring experience was when I worked with some elementary children at a local school. I helped them with all areas of their school work including math, science, and some Spanish (I am not fluent in Spanish but I do understand some words). Students seek me because they enjoy the way I present their course information in story form, making it a little easier to understand. I am a very patient person with a passion for providing my help to people. The best feeling comes from seeing the expression on a student's face when we have worked on a certain subject area and they finally understand it.
