While still in college, I spent one summer working in Mexico City, and another summer attending the University of Madrid, Spain. Upon graduation, I worked at the Spanish National Tourist Office in Toronto, Ontario. I taught Spanish in the Bloomfield Hills School District, in Michigan, for 36 years. My experience was at the middle school level, and I incorporated many supplemental activities while teaching the four fundamental skills of reading, writing, speaking and understanding. When I retired from teaching in 2010, I found that I missed the classroom and the interaction with students. I was asked to do several permanent substitute positions at the high school level for teachers on leave, which I gratefully accepted.
I love the one-on-one interaction with my students. My goal is to encourage, explain, and clarify for my students. I have always had an excellent rapport with students of all ages, and tutoring allows me to communicate even more effectively!
