I have experience one-on-one and in the classroom with elementary as well as college students. I also have career experience in professional writing and research data analysis.
My style tends to be patient and supportive while actively encouraging students to tackle challenging subject matter. I look for multiple ways to present information so that students understand it from various perspectives, able to apply their knowledge to both academic and practical situations.
I look forward to hearing from you about your particular needs and how I may be of service. Perhaps if the fit is right, our connection will turn out to be an enriching relationship for us both.

If you're looking for a tutor to help you explain and understand something you are absolutely clueless about Dr. Crystal is that person! As part of my master's program I was required to take a statistics class, which I knew I would struggle with because math is not my strong point. I had started the class with one low quiz grade but after tutoring sessions with Dr. Crystal my test grades have shown a significant improvement. Starting from 2.5 GPA on quiz 1, I subsequently received 3.8, 3.6 etc. Dr. Crystal is extremely knowledgeable, flexible and patient therefore if any of you need a tutor with writing/math/statistics I strongly recommend her. I am blessed to have worked with her.
Thank you so very much for the glowing review! It really was a pleasure to work with you. You worked so hard and I am so proud of your great strides, improved grades and ultimately your graduation :-) Yayyyy!
Thanks again for sharing your thoughts and may God bless you with continued success.
Dr. Crystal, was very knowledgable on the subject matter. She is also very pleasant. Not really knowing what to expect, the session went okay. She did cover all of the content that I presented. As an older MBA, student I was hoping to have someone who could translate stats to a simplied real-world manner, so that I can understand. Although she tried very hard, it just did not translate to to me. I would recommend her to someone who knows and understand the Statistcs language.
One last comment. Make sure you and Dr. Crystal have a clear understanding of her billing and timing, prior to starting your session! That turned out to interesting to say the least. We had a conversation afterwards, and she still billed for something outside of our agreed upon time.
Excellent tutoring as always! We reviewed mathematics and spanish and I took the tests today and as usual with Dr. Crystal's help I got an A! I highly recommend her services.
Dr. Crystal knows SPSS statistics she used illustration to make points and is good with terminology. I learn more from her that from the instruction from my school.
Dr. Crystal exceeded my expectations. She was very thorough, detailed, and on point helping me with my statistics class. She ensured that I understand the concepts and subject matter. I highly recommend her, especially to the graduate students like me who need help with statistics or need somebody to critique their research, assessments and thesis thoroughly. Very professional......
Dr. Crystal assisted me with step by step directions because I needed them explained to me where I could understand it. With her help and guidance I felt my confidence then what I had. Let me also say she helped me over the phone and last minute, and I really do appreciate that. I will be meeting with her again!
Thank you for your feedback! I am so glad our time benefited you!
Yes, we were under a deadline, but you knew what you needed and we got it done. Way to go!
Dr. Crystal has been helping my son with all of his 9th grade subjects. She has been a huge help in getting him to not only change and increase work habits, but also to understand concepts he was behind in. He feels that she motivates him to do better. I have found her to be caring, patient and accommodating. She does not just teach him and move on , she really CARES that Collin understands does better in his studies. She is definitely 5 STARS!!
Thank you for your wonderful feedback!
I have enjoyed working with Collin, and I have seen great strides in his attitude about school and his attention to his work. Supportive parents like you, who encourage responsibility and growth in their children, make what I do that much easier. Thank you again!
I have worked with Crystal on several occasions to assist with proofing my graduate papers. She provided excellent guidance with the structure, content, and grammar in my writing. As a result of her expert tutorial assistance, I was able to pass my courses successfully. Crystal is articulate and does her due diligence relative to inquiry of assignment requirements on behalf of the student. Her ability to discern the tasks and requirements of the assignment are exactly the skills that students need in the absence of their academic instructor. Her knack for inquiry was great and provided me with the tools and confidence I needed to make the proper corrections in my writings and add to it the clarity needed which enabled me to succeed in my coursework. I would recommend her any day of the week, she is a great person to work with and has the knowledge and skills to go along with her pleasant personality.
Ms. Crystal tutored my daughter this past school year in math. I have always found her to be patient, caring, and very professional.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I am convinced it is essential that children develop a strong foundation in math. Possessing a clear and sound understanding of mathematical fundamentals builds confidence. A lack of the same can affect their attitude about and their success in math for the rest of their academic careers. I not only have the materials (texts, workbooks, and games) to help children learn, I also have the patience and ability to explain the concepts in ways they understand. It is my goal to help my students see the interrelatedness of mathematical concepts as well as their practical applications.

Written word often differs structurally from commonly spoken word. When we are unaware of such differences, it is more difficult to comprehend what we read sometimes. Not to mention, our speech and reading skills are not always at equal levels.
My experience includes being able to help students learn how to read with expression, and to break down sentences in order to comprehend even complex reading – everything from storybooks to essays to academic journal articles. Along with supplementary materials to improve reading, grammar and writing (which often improves as one’s reading does), I have the patience to work with students on phonics and pronunciation. I also provide lots of encouragement as we advance toward our lesson goals.
