Yale University (Sociology)
Math has been a passion for me since the time I was small, and I enjoy sharing that love with students. I work with students to identify goals, clarify concepts, and solidify understanding, always attentive to a student's motivations. Whether a student is struggling with a subject or just trying to truly master the material, I am available to help them reach their goals.
As a math tutor at Oakland Community College, I have worked with students of all ages in subjects ranging from elementary algebra to Calculus III. This June, I received the college's annual departmental award for my coursework in multivariable calculus and contributions to fellow students' learning.
I graduated in May 2013 from Yale University with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology. I have taken math coursework up to Calculus III and Differential Equations.
Please feel free to contact me to set up a tutoring session, and see if we may be a good fit. Math has been a passion for me since the time I was small, and I enjoy sharing that love with students. Kati was super friendly and quickly helped me understand principles that I was having difficulty with. She was patient and made learning easy!
Integration, differential equations, applications, basic calculus concepts, how to break things down. She helped me accomplish an exam review for my calculus class.
Kati helped clarify confusing topics in Calculus and made them easy for me to understand and practice on my own. I am very glad to have contacted Kati for her tutoring services!
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have worked as a supplemental instructor in circle-based trigonometry, and enjoy helping students develop both conceptual and practical understanding of the subject.
