She is an excellent tutor. My daughter looks forward to her visits. Very helpful. She is very patient and is a better teacher than her actual teacher in school according to my daughter.
Sherrie is an outstanding tutor! She has worked with my elementary school aged son and always puts together lessons that are challenging yet age appropriate. Sherrie always provides compliments when he gets something right and shows patience when providing feedback when he struggles.
Thanks for your compliments, Sean! I'll try to do better!
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I graduated from the Capital Normal University in China. I used to teach English to middle school/high school students in China. During the past few years, I have taught/tutored Chinese language to students ranging from 1st to 10th grades in the US. I believe learning Chinese can be fun and enjoyable. Students will not only learn to speak, understand, read and write Chinese and the Hanyu Pinyin system but also learn Chinese cultures. In my class, the text books can be selected from a variety of choices by students and parents, and the lesson plan will be tailored to meet individual student's needs and can be planned by students/parents and the teacher together.
