Wayne State University
My name is Farah. I'm 24 years old and I have a Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry from Wayne State University. During my undergraduate career, I worked in inorganic chemistry research for two years at WSU. I was also awarded a paid internship in organic chemistry through the Deutscher Akademischer Austausch Dienst (DAAD) at Freie University in Berlin, Germany.
Wayne State requires a variety of physics and mathematical classes in order to award a BS in chemistry. I took a lot of upper level math classes including calculus III and linear algebra. I also took many calculus based physics classes. I learned to use shortcuts and tricks to solve problems and therefore I did well in the sciences.
In high school, I received the highest grade in my school in AP physics, and I was the only student to receive the "Outstanding Achievement Award" in math.
In my undergraduate years at WSU, I was a member in several clubs such as, the WSU Optimist Club and American Medical Student Association. I have been a volunteer at Oakwood hospital for the past few years. I am also a published author.
I am fluent in Arabic (in reading, writing, speaking, and grammar). Arabic is such a beautiful language, and I would love to help you learn it.
Few of my past tutoring experiences include:
Teaching AP physics to 2 homeschool seniors. They both received As.
Teaching geometry to a tenth grader. He received 89% on his final exam after receiving Cs and Ds on his other exams. I currently tutor him in algebra and he is receiving As in all his quizzes and test.
Teaching organic chemistry/biochemistry to a college student who ended up acing her class.
Teaching Arabic to a 24 year old who had no knowledge of the language, but in only 10 sessions, he learned how to do basic reading, writing, and conversing.
Teaching a 5 year old with ADHD how to pronounce letters like f and s correctly, and thus helping her improve her pronunciation and self-confidence.
Tutoring ACT and GRE math over few months.
I am family oriented, easy going, and very friendly. I am also very patient and I have a lot of techniques and tricks that I would love to share with you. My schedule is very flexible, and I am available to teach kids with special needs.
If you are interested or if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to message me. Hi there,

Farah has been excellent in helping me to learn to speak Arabic. She makes it possible to understand the language and gives information about cultural traditions that help connect the dots. She helps me understand the language, the meaning of words and how to make it go together. I give her five stars!
Farah was very clear and patient. I was able to follow her instruction easily and she made learning a new language seem easier than I thought it would be. She was comfortable and knowledgeable answering questions, explaining in as much detail as I was seeking. Very good session.
Farah is great...very patient and explains Algebra in easy to understand steps!!! I actually understand the math problems I am working on now.
Farah is an excellent tutor and works with me to develop a good, strategic learning plan so that I am progressing and I can see my progress.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have a Bachelor's degree of science in Chemistry from Wayne State University. I have taken many organic chemistry classes, as well as their labs sections. The classes I took include: organic chemistry 1 and 2, advanced organic chemistry laboratory, and organic chemistry spectroscopy (a graduate level course). I also took biochemistry which includes a lot of organic chemistry formulas and reactions. I excelled in all these classes. In 2009, I earned a paid internship to do organic chemistry research through the Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst (DAAD)in Berlin, Germany.
