I have been a distance educator for over two decades, teaching students from all over the world. I am also a mother of three school-aged daughters. I am passionate about teaching and tutoring students. I have a Master's Degree in Education Design and Technology. I am passionate about the use of technology in education. I am on the board of directors of a regional STEM organization which highlights the positive use and community impact of using science, technology, engineering and math in education.
We all learn differently and need some sort of extra help at one time or another. Mentoring and tutoring are an important part of any educational journey, I think. I like meeting face to face, but also think that tutoring can be accomplished virtually.
My style of tutoring begins with getting to know the student and their strengths and weaknesses and then highlighting and using those strengths. I believe in multiple learning styles and multiple intelligence theory.
Education empowers all of us. I am looking forward to tutoring students in and around my own community.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I teach Adobe Flash for ITT-Technical Institute.
I have taught Adobe InDesign for over a year. I teach it for ITT-Tech online to mostly adult learners. I have a Master's Degree in Education Design and Technology.
I played basketball all through middle and high school. I have coached my daughters teams for over 6 years and also have played on leagues within my community. I also volunteer at basketball camps.
I have taught desktop publishing for adult learners through many different institutions. I also have used it for my own business/work endeavors.
I have used a MAC for over three year, having completed a Master's Degree through it. I also now teach through it.
Before I used a MAC, I was on a PC for almost 20 years. I have extensive teaching experience with Windows as the platform/operating system.
I have been a public speaker for over two decades through my work. I have taught public speaking for both Kaplan and the University of Phoenix, as well as a local community college.
I had a business where I taught small business owners how to develop web pages. I teach web development for ITT-Tech.
