Hello, I taught elementary education, grades K-3 both regular classrooms and special needs students. I am very passionate about teaching and love to see the growth students make each day. I taught for 31 years, and miss teaching very much. I retired to work another job full time.
I enjoy working with struggling students as I find it a challenge to assist with their learning to make a difference in their love for education. I can't wait to assist you/your child to succeed in school or in their homeschooling environment.
I am a successful math tutor as I make the lessons fun and a hands on experience when possible. If hands on experiences are possible, I will make math fun for you, and teach you the skills with patience and fun practice for you.
I love to teach reading. I find it fun to ask questions about comprehension, and aide in creating fun book reports. Reading is necessary and can be made fun to learn. I make it a hands on fun experience whenever I can. making learning a fun experience is my goal. Building vocabulary through word walls and sight words is very important.
I love helping students to learn the skills in elementary school that will make them successful students in middle and high school. My experience is mostly K-2 and special needs students. I like to make lessons fun and engaging. Not just bookwork.
There are so many ways that are fun to learn phonics. This is an important skill to be a successful reader. There are many fun things that can be done with this subject and building reading skills.

For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
