Oakland University (Engineering)
Hello, once again my name is Kevin. I am a senior at Oakland University studying for a major in Electrical Engineering and a minor in Japanese language and culture. I have studied abroad in Japan twice and am quite competent in my skill with the Japanese language. I am a new tutor to WyzAnt Tutoring but I'm very excited to begin!
When I was in high school, I was a tutor for NHS (National Honors Society) for two years teaching both elementary and middle school students. I enjoy helping people learn more as well as helping them improve their grades. I like to see improvement in myself and enjoy helping others achieve their goals. I am a Japanese language tutor and want to assist students either improve their overall knowledge and/or help them prepare for a test. I do assign my own assignments but never anything that will distract the student from their other school work assignments, I also test the student periodically to ensure where improvement has been made and what could use more work.
I hope to hear from you soon!
What makes me an outstanding Japanese language tutor is the fact that I have been to Japan twice for studying abroad and have communicated a lot with the locals. I am also taking courses at Oakland University for a Japanese language and culture minor, and have been studying since I was a sophomore in high school. I have first hand experience utilizing the language.
I'm available in the afternoon on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. I can also do weekends. I can travel to meet students wherever they are most comfortable. My fee is $35/hour for in-person tutoring. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
