Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

CBEST

I have passed the CBEST with high marks and tutored several adults working towards their credential on the CBEST with a 100% pass rate from students.

College Counseling

I have been working with high school age students for over 10 years, helping them prepare for college applications and studying for standardized tests. I am familiar with the requirements for college applications and have helped many students get accepted to their school of choice. Assistance includes fine tuning essay and application, making the right letter of recommendation choices and also planning course work, community service and interns to have the most well rounded and successful candidates for college.

Elementary (K-6th)

Multiple-subject preliminary teaching credential. 12+ years teaching experience in all subjects K-8, plus high school. Home-school experience with elementary, middle and high school aged children.

PSAT

I have several years of PSAT teaching experience including both knowledge of the testing material and test taking strategies. My students have all received a substantial increase in scores on both the PSAT and SAT, including students who have received perfect 800s on sections.

Social Studies

I have several years experience teaching all subjects in elementary school including Social Studies. I also hold a BA in History from the University of Southern California (USC).

Study Skills

Skilled in creating lesson plans, organization skills and study skills. I work with the students on scheduling, efficiency and proper note taking and studying techniques. Additionally I have extensive experience on test taking skills and project/homework completion.

Mission Accomplished

You can't go wrong with Meagan! My son has used a litany of tutors. I have even changed school districts for him to begin a new lease on his academic future. We began using Meagan this fall and she has gotten results and is unwilling to accept mediocrity or evidence of lack of knowledge from my son of the assigned material. Meagan will not leave until she feels confident, sees and hears my son
