She taught Chad about matter and how to cross reduce fractions. She's very caring and patient with Chad. Her teaching style is helping Chad to over come his learning barriers.
She was very patient with my daughter. My daughter's tutor session was very personable. She really helped my daughter understand Algebra 1 When she left the first session she was feeling very confident in Math.
Annie was very knowledgable, patient and put Dorian at ease to learn. He left the session learning how to multiply fractions.

If you’re looking for a math tutor that can turn the lights on in your child’s eyes; you’ve just found Southfield's best kept secret.
My daughter, who is now in the seventh grade, has struggled with math since the third grade. She was just able to do enough to pass. After I began to home school her I realize that there was a lot of basic math that she needed strengthening in. I knew I needed to find a tutor quickly.
Well she has had three sessions with Ms. Annie and OMG; after the first session I knew I had found a gem. After her third session she couldn’t wait to show me what she had learned. She enjoys her tutoring sessions with Ms. Annie so much that she wants me to schedule extra days when ever possible.
So in short: day 1 – the light was dim; day 2 – 60 watts; day 3 – 100 watts.
If you want to see your child’s math grade improve in a matter of days…. make the right choice; Ms. Annie, Southfield's best-kept secret.
Annie M. is a great tutor. She is extremely knowledgeable in math. We have had tutors in the past and they do not even compare to her. She is organized and patient. She has clued in to how our son's mind works and has taught him specific ways on how to look at problems so he understands. She has turned around a 16 year old who has had low confidence in math his whole life to being a student that is confident that he can do math. Great, great tutor!
We have been seeing Annie since October 2013 and could not be happier. She is an excellent tutor who deeply cares about how her students do in school. She is very accommodating and so very pleasant. Our son, for the first time since first grade, has confidence in math.
My son was having issues with Geometry and it was the last couple of weeks of school. He did not do well on a couple of test and I was worried about the final. He began working with Annie M. three sessions and took the final a couple of days later. They did every problem in the study guide (83 problems). Annie was very patient and knowledgeable. She knew exactly what his problem was and focus on it. I'm very happy to report that he got a 91% on the exam and a B out of his Geometry class. I would highly recommend Annie and will be come back for the following school year along with my daughter.
Thanks a million Annie.
Very pleased with the progress my daughter is making. She has renewed confidence in math. Annie helped prepare my 4th grader for a math test, and we were happy with the results.
My daughter really appreciated the help Annie had given. No question, we WILL seek Annie's help again! She provided clarity in a subject that can be difficult to grasp.
Thank goodness I found Annie on WyzAnt. I was looking for a professional tutor who was patient, knowledgeable and interested in helping my daughter with her geometry. I'm truly impressed on how Annie takes her time to explain to my daughter any areas of difficulty she may be having trouble understanding. Annie helps my daughter feel comfortable and more confident when taking her tests. We look forward to working with her every week!!
My daughter needed help with geometry. Annie was patient and explained it so my daughter could understand. She was able to show her how to use the calculator. She gave my daughter items she needed to focus on to help her succeed in the class. I would recommend her to everyone.
Anne recently started working with my high school daughter on precalculus. She was extremely professional, on-time, patient, knowledgeable and very pleasant. In addition to helping her with math, she helped her learn how to properly use her graphing calculator. We are looking forward to working with her on a regular basis.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have taught ACT prep courses at work for the past few years.
I have experience as a chess player in middle and high school. In addition, I was the assistant chess coach at the high school where I taught. I helped coach our team for 5 years. I enjoy chess because it helps to develop critical thinking skills.
