About Carol

Bio

Bueno! Soy Carolina - "Me gusta muchisimo ensenar Espanol!" "I really like to teach Spanish!" I studied Spanish in grade school, high school, and college. However, it was not until I lived in Mexico for a year that the language came to life. While I was there, I taught English as a second language to both children and adults.

I have experience working at a predominantly Hispanic day camp in Detroit leading activities and interpreting for the children, staff, and parents.

However, it was not until I lived in Mexico for a year that the language came to life. While I was there, I taught English as a second language to both children and adults.

I have experience working at a predominantly Hispanic day camp in Detroit leading activities and interpreting for the children, staff, and parents.

While living in Ann Arbor, I also volunteered as an interpreter for a Salvadoran refugee and had fun introducing the community to and interpreting for a Costa Rican student.

For the last five years, I have been working as a Spanish interpreter for a market research company. Throughout all my previous employment, I have been able to incorporate my Spanish skills; something I've found to be very useful and marketable.

I have been a catalyst in my family for encouraging my nieces and nephews to study Spanish. Two have traveled to Spain and one to Costa Rica. One nephew just graduated with a minor in Spanish. It's fun to speak Spanish with them or communicate by email in Spanish. Through Spanish, I was actually able to help a niece overcome a speech impediment.
