I have had a passion for learning and science for as long as I can remember. Being called a nerd never bothered me and I was always exploring and reading anything I could get my hands on. That love for knowledge has translated into my everyday life and I would love the opportunity to help others find their best learning style to make learning fun.
During school I would often study with groups of people and we would assist each other with various study techniques. In graduate school my peers often came to me for assistance or help with problems or studying. I firmly believe there is no such thing as a dumb question and I am a very curious person who is always inquiring about the world around me. The best way to learn is to seek help when needed and to never be afraid to speak up when you don’t understand. There is no shame in wanting to further your knowledge or understanding of something.
I obtained my Bachelor’s Degree from Ohio Northern University studying Molecular Biology with a minor in Biochemistry. I then went on to graduate school at The University of Toledo and have a Ph.D. in Cancer Biology and Biochemistry. I spent a year in California doing cancer research and am now back in the Midwest working at a cancer hospital using my knowledge to be a part of the cancer solution. I have always loved science and would enjoy the chance to let others see how fun it can be! I will work with each individual to gain an understanding of their needs and develop a plan to help them achieve their goals.
I look forward to working with students who need extra assistance and are eager to learn. I have had a passion for learning and science for as long as I can remember. This rating would have been 5 stars had I not hit the wrong star! Meghan is very knowledgeable in biology. She and my son seemed to have clicked and my son said he really liked her and learned from Meghan!!!!
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
