Hello! My name is Angela C and I have been an elementary school teacher for the past eighteen years. I have successfully taught third grade and fourth grade reading, writing, spelling, science, social studies and math. I have a great deal of experience using interventions to help students who may find new concepts challenging. My passion in teaching is helping students get that "aha" moment when they start to understand something new!
My many years of experience in teaching has provided me with many "tools" in my tool box to help your child grow. In reading, I am experienced teaching the Lucy Calkins units of reading instruction. Additionally, I am experienced with teaching Leveled Literacy Intervention, which helps students grow more quickly in their reading levels. These skills help each child grow as a reader.
Math is my favorite subject and I like to make it my students' favorite subject also! As a math teacher, I have taught using Math Expressions, Everyday Math and Bridges Math. My knowledge of all the instructional strategies in these different programs helps me to have many ways to help your child grow in math.
In writing, I am well-versed in the Lucy Calkins units of writing as well as numerous strategies for breaking down writing into smaller parts to help students who find writing challenging.
