My goal as an educator is to do as much as I can to give my students the necessary tools to be successful. I want to help guide the next generation into hard-working people who care about themselves and those around them. I not only want to help teach young people core academic skills, but I also want to incorporate dedication, positive self-talk, and perseverance when things get tough.
I am a special education teacher in the elementary grades. My specialties are in reading (phonics, fluency, etc.), writing, and math. I currently teach small math and reading groups to help close the gaps between those students and their peers. I enjoy and have a passion to put in extra time to help young students practice and become more confident in themselves.
Since I am a teacher, I am only available from 4pm-9pm on the week days and most Saturdays from 8am-noon. I do not work on Sundays. I would be willing to travel to student's house, but only up to 20 miles from my home. I am willing to meet half-way or somewhere convenient for everyone involved. I am only looking to tutor students from grades K-6. My base rate is $50/per hour. Please contact me with any questions or for more details!
I look forward to hearing from you and help build knowledge in your child's academics and build confidence within themselves!

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have a minor in General Elementary Education. I have taken several college classes such as Math for the Elementary Teacher, ELA for the Elementary Teacher, and Reading Strategies. I have also tutored special needs students in the area focus of reading.
I have several students that have difficulty with handwriting. While there are many ways to work around handwriting (iPads, keyboards, etc.), handwriting is still very important. I have tutored a few different students in handwriting and created different worksheets that require students to trace and then write it on their own. I have a minor in General Elementary Education.
I have a minor in General Elementary Education. I have taken several different college courses for reading strategies and the levels of reading. I currently teach reading intervention groups and reteach them basic phonics skills daily. I have used programs such as Read Naturally, GATE, SIPPS, and LEXIA that all teach phonics.
