Above all, I am a passionate student and teacher. My teaching philosophy is adapt my teaching strategies to each student's needs. I believe teaching should be fun, interesting, and challenging. During my undergraduate degree, I contemplated going into Secondary Education and even completed some coursework towards this end. This included spending time in middle school classrooms observing teaching strategies as well as tutoring small groups of students. While I decided not to teach at the k-12 level, my new dream is to teach at the college level, and it is my goal to help you reach your goal!
I have tutoring experience with Beyond Basics--a nonprofit that provides reading and comprehension tutors to underprivileged students in the Metro-Detroit area. This experience sparked me to continue tutoring as I attend graduate school at Wayne State University. Teaching is such a passion that I plan on becoming a professor with a focus on composition. In addition to my experience tutoring elementary school students in reading and comprehension, I have extensive knowledge of essay writing at all levels and in numerous subjects. My essay knowledge includes: literary analysis, rhetorical analysis, research papers, argumentative, and creative writing. Furthermore, in high school I completed AP Calculus and earned 8 college credits. While I did not continue my math studies in college, I still have an affinity for numbers. Math is such an important part of everyday life, and I want to help you gain a solid foundation in math.

For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
English is my passion! I enjoy teaching this subject at any level.
