About Andreea

Over the past eight years, I have been working as a part time faculty and a graduate teaching assistant in a number of courses at Wayne State University (WSU), University of Phoenix, Michigan Central University, and American Public University, on campus and online.

At WSU, I had the opportunity to be a co-/instructor in multiple courses in the Nutrition and Food Science Department, including Nutrition and Health, Nutrition and Disease, Intro to Food Science, Food Chemistry, and Nutrition and Metabolism. I also participated in course design and development, including class structure, weekly assignments, exams, projects, and discussion boards. In addition, I have completed a minor in Statistics from the Education, Evaluation, and Research Department at WSU, as well as built a vast experience in research and statistical analysis, including multivariate analysis for metabolomics studies.

During my sessions, I encourage students to engage with the topic at hand, in belief that good teaching depends upon intellectual exchange. I believe in a flexible manner of instruction, responsive to the unique atmosphere of a given challenge. Every student, regardless of their background, can improve their ability to understand and apply science. In the end, it is my ultimate goal to enrich a student’s ability to think about, discuss, and apply biological science concepts with a new awareness and significance.

My sessions are mostly held at either Rochester Hills/Auburn Hills public library or at the Shiffman Medical Library at WSU-School of Medicine, but I can arrange other locations convenient for the student. I do require a 24-hour cancellation policy and I do offer make up lessons.
I look forward hearing from you and helping you achieve success in your studies!

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
