I am a math teacher with more than 10 years of teaching experience. I am currently teaching at a high school, but have extensive experience teaching both middle school and high school math.
I have now been a tutor for several years, working with many students of differing ages and abilities. I believe my strength as a tutor is being able to explain difficult concepts in a way that makes them easily understandable. As a result, I have seen each of my students grow in confidence from their very first session. Increased confidence is the key to success in math; a more confident student will approach problems with a "can do" attitude and be more likely to succeed.
I would be happy to work with students of all ages. I am able to tutor elementary, middle and high school math (Algebra 1, Geometry and Algebra 2). Please check my times for my availability. In addition, I am available daily during school breaks.
Thank you for taking the time to read my profile. If you have any questions, please feel free to e-mail me. I usually respond within a couple of hours. I would be delighted to work with a group of 2-4 students, providing they are all studying the same topic. The price is the same.
We would recommend Jack 100%. We cannot say enough good things. He has been on time. Always patiently explaining the material and keeping me the parent informed. He teaches in a way that has really helped my child with understanding the math concepts.
Mr. B is a great tutor. He does a great job of explaining everything to his students. He makes hard stuff easy to understand.
My daughter saw Jack for the first time. She really likes him and said he taught her how to do Algebra 1 a little quicker. She seems to understand it better after her lesson with him. She has a quiz today so we will see! I got a hold of him on a Tuesday because my daughter had a very important quiz on Thursday. He saw her right away on Wednesday. Thanks so much Jack for caring and helping my daughter!!
Jack is a terrific tutor. He customizes every step to meet student needs. I would recommend him to everyone. Already the stress level in our house has decreased!
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have taught Algebra 1 in an American high school, so I can help students with any aspect of this course. I currently teach both Geometry and Algebra 2, so I would be able to prepare any student for what comes next.
I currently teach Algebra 2 in an American high school. Additionally, I have 8 years experience prior to that teaching Algebra 2 topics in an English high school.
I teach Geometry in a local high school. I am very familiar with the concepts and can help students master the basics and build their confidence in this subject. I would also be delighted to work with honors students to further develop their skills and provide more challenging questions. I am also an Algebra II teacher, so I can help prepare students for the next course, particularly any trigonometry work.
I have experience tutoring students of differing abilities on all aspects of the Pre-Algebra course. This course is an essential building block for Algebra 1 and 2 and I will make sure that you have the confidence and the ability to succeed not only this year but also in the years ahead.
I currently teach Trigonometry in an American high school as part of the Algebra II course. I also teach a special specialized Trigonometry course for which I developed the resources. I have 8 years experience prior to that teaching Trigonometry in an English high school.
