Michigan State University (English)
My name is Eva and I am a certified English/Language Arts teacher by day, and a mommy to twin boys at night. I received my Bachelor's in English and Secondary Teaching Certification from Michigan State University, Go Green! I have been a classroom teacher for the past 6 years, and currently teach through a virtual high school right here in Michigan. I am hoping to establish a few students to work with outside of my typical teaching duties. I have always enjoyed working one and one with students, and feel that they just don't receive this type of attention in the typical classroom setting.
I have worked in a variety of different school settings. From virtual, to alternative, to Montessori, I am well versed in working with a variety of students. I specialize in writing and reading intervention and strategies. I also have extensive work in curriculum writing and would love to create a specialized plan for your student/child! Every student is different, so there is not just one way to teach. I am a firm believer in differentiated instruction!
I look forward to learning more about what you are looking for.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
