About Alexander

I graduated magna cum laude from Michigan Tech with a degree in mathematics, a minor in computer science, and a teaching certificate in both subjects. I have over four years experience as a substitute teacher, including some long-term math positions. My experience in the classroom has prepared me to be a flexible, adaptable tutor -- after all, the lessons plans I have to work with aren't always clear!

My goal is always to help students learn to succeed on their own. I focus on making sure my students not only are prepared to do the assigned calculations, but understand why the methods they are using work and can apply the methods in unexpected situations. I love working with students at any age from middle school through college, and am extremely passionate about helping students achieve an independence that will serve them will in school, the workplace, and throughout their lives.

I look forward to hearing from you, and helping you achieve all the success you are capable of in your mathematical endeavors!

If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
