My name is Sandra, and I'm a patient and dedicated tutor for students interested in fine tuning the skills and knowledge of World History, Social Studies, Anthropology, Sociology, and International Affairs. As a student, I excelled at multi-tasking and developed my study and test preparation skills which ultimately led to an early High School Graduation with Honors, a full-ride through College courtesy of the HOPE Scholarship. I began my college career in 2010 and graduated with Honors three years later with a Bachelor's of Arts in International Affairs with a Middle Eastern Concentration. Through my college coursework, I developed a strong theoretical and analytical understanding of International Relations, International Political Economy, International Security Issues, International Organizations, and International Law. I also gained a comprehensive regional expertise on the Middle East and developed a keen understanding of its rich history, culture, religions and an insight into its unique political systems, economy, development, demographics, labor markets, resource scarcity, internal security, social issues regarding women and minority rights, terrorism and political violence, and opportunities for growth and improvement.
I have always been passionate about helping students succeed, and in 2010 I became the Outreach Coordinator for my Church's Community Service. I began a comprehensive after school tutoring program, and managed the volunteer tutoring program while providing hands-on mentorship and guidance for my students. Many of my students who had previously been struggling academically, are currently on-track towards early graduation or transitioning into College life. I have a heart for service, and understand the unique challenges facing students today. I am more than happy to always go the extra mile for students, and I look forward to providing them with the individual attention they need to develop their academic skills and overall success.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
