I am a 2014 graduate of the Honors College at Oakland University with a BA in Cinema Studies and minors in English and Japanese Language. I graduated with Departmental Honors (in-major GPA 3.79) and Cum Laude overall. During my collegiate studies I won awards in both academic and creative film applications including First Place in Film Criticism 2012-2013 and First Place in Special Effects at Grizzdance 2013. In my undergraduate thesis, “Signing With A Sword: Signature Sign Patterns of Semiotics as Connotative Constructs Applied to Chinese Martial Arts Cinema”, I identified the semiotic sign patterns in four distinctive styles of Chinese martial arts films, and demonstrated how they were constructed due to their major influence. I am currently a freelance filmmaker and video editor.

For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
