I authored a chapter of the 2010 UMBC Critical Care Transport text for Jones & Bartlett, as well as working on other EMS projects for AAOS/Jones & Bartlett and Brady/Prentice Hall. As the former chair of the Education Committee of Michigan's EMS Coordination Committee, I helped the State navigate through the changes of the NHTSA National Scope of Practice, Education Standards and current Instructional Guidelines.

I am a Michigan licensed Paramedic (since '92) - EMS Instructor (since'98); a UMBC certified CCTP; and NREMT certified Paramedic with over 20 years of professional education experience in EMS. Science

Anatomy,

Anatomy

Anatomy at ANY level is the study of organ structure. Students often have a hard time with this subject as they try to force rote memorization of the (often Latin) terminology. I incorporate little "tricks" to help students remember the structure names - i.e. the thinner/smaller bone that lies in the back of the lower leg is a "Little Lie"... or "FIB" (fibula). I am a Michigan Licensed EMS-Instructor with a good deal of success preparing students for Board Exams.

I provide instruction in pharmacology related to the medical industries of nursing and emergency medical technology. Including drug development, pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics, drug classification, administration techniques, and emergency medication use.

Physiology at ANY level is the study of body function. Students often have a hard time with this subject as they try to force rote memorization of the processes. I incorporate little "tricks" to help students remember these processes- making a connection between the "what" and organ does and the "why" its doing it. I am a Michigan Licensed EMS-Instructor with a good deal of success preparing students for Board Exams.

ASVAB,

ASVAB

I have several years' experience in test preparation for EMS candidates taking the NREMT Certification Exam and nurses taking the NCLEX exam. These are not dissimilar to the ASVAB test for the Military. I have been involved in test writing for the NREMT and construct exams regularly for an EMS academy. Although it has been several years, I have taken the ASVAB. I feel confident I can assist candidates improve their test-taking abilities with the ASVAB.

Great Tutor

Jonathan was able to explain things a couple of different ways, but what made more sense was that he took the words from the dug calculation & infusion problems, and drew them out as pictures explaining what each one was, why it was worded a certain way, and then we worked through the math.

Highly Recommend!!

Jon was insanely helpful in preparing me for my EMT exam. I had already failed twice and I didn't have time to go through the 24 hours of remediation so I decided to get a tutor and I'm so thankful I picked him. Not only does he teach you exam tricks on how to answer certain questions, but he's also great at explaining the content if you don't know something. He provided me with so many great materials that helped a lot. He was very patient and thoughtful and I would recommend him to anyone!

Amazing first lesson

took one lesson so far with Jonathan, and it's was amazing. Needed help with some paramedic material, and He really understands the material and is very good at explaining it over. Will definitely be using Jonathan again in the near future and would recommend to anybody needing help in EMT/paramedic school.

Couldn't have done it without him

I found John after having difficulty passing my NREMT-P test. I had tried every book/website to prep for the test but after having no luck I turned to find a tutor. After my very first lesson I felt much more confident about the test than I ever had before. John gives you tips and tricks that you couldn't find anywhere else about how the test is set up. I was mind blown after the first lesson. I took several lessons with John after that in order to prepare and he gave me multiple practice tests that were similar to the actual test questions. When John said I was ready to take it, I scheduled the test and passed! You should not hesitate to book a lesson with John no matter if this is your very first time taking the test or you've already tried several times before. He knows his stuff and I am so grateful that he offers his time to tutor future medics. Thank you John! Respectfully, Max M.
