Beth has a great style of teaching, very thorough and thoughtful with her explanations. Very good teacher. My daughter is very comfortable asking questions as well. Thanks!!
Beth helped my son review some concepts in Algebra. She is patient and encouraging and he found the session very interesting.
Beth is really helping my daughter understand her pre-calculus math class. Since we started, Beth has reviewed areas from earlier in the class as well as looked ahead and covered new areas. My daughter is really responding well to her and her test scores are improving too.
We've only had one lesson so far but my son said Beth helped him a lot. She was flexible and able to tutor on short notice.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have taught high school mathematics for 8 years. I have a masters in Education and started a masters in Mathematics. I have also tutored on and off for a number of years. I know how to work one on one with students and to explain math concepts in different ways so that students can understand and better grasp the material.
