I got my first taste of teaching as a substitute teacher and I fell in love with it immediately. Being able to pass on what I know and watch students of all ages gather information is so awesome. I was also tutor for French during my time spent as an undergrad at Lake Superior State University.
I am extremely outgoing and personable. I believe getting to know people is the first step in best teaching them. I like keeping a light-hearted atmosphere and positive attitudes with my students.
I spent a year as a Rotary Exchange Student living in France and have B2 level certification. My Bachelors Degree is in French Language and Literature.
My background in French was spurred on by a love of reading and vocabulary. I became extremely proficient with English grammar as I learned French grammar and how they differ. Writing research papers and editing fellow students papers has made my proofreading phenomenal.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
