I recently moved back to Marquette after spending the past 7 years in Minneapolis. I started my education with the intent of becoming an elementary teacher. As my education and experience progressed I realized I wanted to teach high school. I chose Home Economics as my major because I wanted to teach sexual health (still my favorite topic). I taught Life Skills for 4 years in lower MI before moving to the UP in 2001. We moved because of my husband's job, I didn't have any luck finding a teaching job and haven't been in a classroom since then - which is fine with me.
I have been working both in and out of the classroom with children of all ages since I was a teenager: teacher, nanny, daycare, classroom paraprofessional (with severely autistic students).
