My degree is a Bachelor in Arts in Liberal Arts, but the credits are equivalent to a double major in Theology and Philosophy with a double minor in Math and Natural Science. During my college years, I taught for a distance learning program. I taught elementary, middle school, & high school Latin and elementary & middle school English. I have also tutored individual students in math at the elementary, middle school and high school (Algebra 1 and Geometry) levels and in English and Latin at the middle school level. I have also helped students with writing and reading comprehension.
In addition to tutoring, I have been teaching Latin, math and writing for a hybrid academy that holds classes twice a week over the past three years. I also teach English as a Second Language online to students in China.
One of my favorite things about tutoring is being able to meet the individual needs of students. It is so rewarding to be able to help them regain their confidence and learn to love the subject. I will be patient as I drill the student on any concepts which he/she finds troubling. I believe it is always important to encourage the students as they work. I hope to give students a new love for knowledge!
