While I am a lawyer by profession, I am passionate about teaching and about the pursuit of knowledge regardless of one's age or vocation. Because of my extensive education and vast experience practicing law, I am equipped to teach a wide-array of legal and non-legal subjects. I have enjoyed the privilege of teaching upcoming lawyers, judges, paralegals, college students, and last but not least my own children, and have been successful in transferring the skills required to become an astute lawyer to a teaching venue.
Because I expect each of my students to do his or her best, I will always challenge them to reach for their greatest potential but will never belittle or overwhelm them with unreasonable expectations. I use objective learning assessments and Bloom's Taxonomy to ensure students are actually learning what I am trying to teach. I also respect the student's role in the learning process and will periodically invite their feedback.
As circumstances permit, I will be flexible with my time in scheduling appointments. However, I will not agree to compromise the benefit of the tutoring session by being unprepared. I look forward to invigorating tutoring sessions and in helping you achieve success in your studies. Finally, you should rest assured that I will mentor and build your confidence in ways that will help you overcome the learning obstacles confronting you. I have seven years of successful experience teaching and serving as a clinician at an ABA certified law school. For over a decade, I was selected to serve as a regional trainer at BLST (Basic Lawyer Skills Training) events. BLST trainers were a select group of veteran attorneys trained to teach new lawyers how to practice law using NITA methodology. BLST trainings were two-week long intensive team trainings culminating in an actual trial with a presiding judge from the local bench. I was honored to train so many years because my teams typically prevailed at the mock trial.
