Hello Everyone,

My name is Eric. I recently graduated from the University of California Merced with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and a minor in Writing. I moved to Michigan without knowing anyone here because I was fortunate enough to be offered an entry level position in the Lansing area. Although I am employed, I continue to tutor because I love helping students succeed; tutoring to me is both a intrinsic and extrinsic experience and it reflects one of my favorite quotes by Albert Einstein "Only a life lived for others is worth living".

As a student at a UC I know what it takes to succeed and what is expected of every student, so for any high school student wishing to pursue a higher education in college I can provide some great tips and study skills that can provide useful as you move further into your academics. That goes for any undergrad as well, I have been in your shoes and believe me I know how stressful school can be and all the sleep one sacrifices to study more. As a Mechanical engineer I have taken many courses that deal directly with Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Writing. I have taken courses in Calculus (I & II), Probability and Statistics, Differential Equations and Linear Algebra, Vector Calculus (Calc. III), Statics and Dynamics, Numerical Analysis and I know how to use/code in various programs like MATLAB, C++, C sharp and java.

It is not often that an engineering student pursues a minor in writing, but I did so simply because I have a passion for writing and believe that each and every individual has a story to tell. It is important to tell your story and embrace it, because it is that story that makes us who we are. In regards to tutoring, I believe my minor in Writing can help me be an extensive help to students who are writing essays, students who want to know how to break down writing prompts and provide tips on what exactly some professors are looking for. I can also be helpful in terms of grammar, vocabulary and the mechanics of writing (i.e., sentence structure, punctuation, etc.). Lastly, I can also be of some help in Spanish, as I speak Spanish fluently.

Best Regards,

Eric

So excellent!

Eric is currently tutoring my daughter for both geometry and Spanish and is excellent in both areas. Eric has a gift for assessing a child's baseline knowledge, tapping into their interests, and then shaping lessons accordingly. I would highly recommend to any and all.

Patient and on task

My daughter felt he was very helpful. He kept her on task and she felt like she finally understood what she was supposed to be learning. We will be having him help on the future for sure.

Patient tutor

Perie was very happy with Wednesday's lesson with Eric. He has helped her become more comfortable with her math. He seems to read her perfectly when it comes to her weaknesses. She had a quiz Thursday and came away feeling very comfortable . I am anxious to find out her results. Just seeing her so confident was an accomplishment.

Great patience and understanding of the material

Eric has been working with my son since the school year started in August. He is knowledgeable about the material and always prepared for the lesson. He has been extremely dependable, never missing or canceling a lesson. He is extremely professional and always shows great appreciation for his work. I highly recommend Eric as a tutor. He has been a great asset to my son during his senior year. We will definitely have him work with our younger son as well!

Excellent Tutor

Eric was an absolute professional as he interacted with our family. Eric is a great communicator, encourager, and motivator. The results are extremely measurable as our son went from a failing grade, where he didn't understand any of the concepts in geometry, to finishing the course with a strong "B". Thank you!
