I am currently a Mechanical Engineer doing primarily design work with HVAC/Mechanical for the pharmaceutical field. I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Engineering Physics from Randolph College and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Washington University in St. Louis. At Randolph College, a very small liberal-arts school, connections with my peers and faculty were very important and I gained a number of writing and communication skills. Many relationships I formed came from the two years I spent tutoring other students as a work-study job. I tutored computer science, introductory physics, algebra and calculus. I was one of the most valued tutors of the around thirty employed as I consistently had the most hours and even earned Tutor of the Year for the 2015-2016 school year. I have now been tutoring Calculus levels I and II for both high school and college students for 4 years.

I love working one-on-one with students to help them better understand topics that may have been gone over too quickly in class. Math is a subject I am very passionate about and I consider Calculus to be my forte. Sharing that passion and tutoring is more of an enjoyment than a job for me. The biggest challenge in my experience is taking multiple approaches to problems and finding new ways of explaining a tough topic to someone who may not learn the same way I or someone else learns. This is one of my favorite parts to tutoring though. I am pretty flexible and easy-going and will leave the structure of the tutoring session up to my tutee if he or she has a preference. However I do have high expectations and I believe you can succeed in a subject a lot of people are afraid of as long as you put the work in. I am looking forward to meeting with you!

Calculus,

Calculus

I have tutored college level Calculus I and II for the past two and a half years. I took and succeeded in all math classes required for a B.A. in Engineering Physics, including up to Calculus III, Differential Equations and Linear Algebra. I have also completed two courses in Advanced Engineering Mathematics. I am best at and most passionate about Calculus because I use it frequently and it has so many real world applications.
