I have had the privilege of teaching music to all grades k-12 and college for 30 years. I have also taught music appreciation for 10 years on line to high school students. I believe my enthusiasm and understanding of music and how it can enhance any subject has helped my students reach their potential.
Although my certification is only JH level, I I took extra credits in Biology in college and love the study of the human body and it's complex systems. As a music instructor I am quite learned in Music and he Brain and it's effect on learning. I have trained teachers on how to integrate he core subjects and music for greater learning.
I have taught both instrumental and vocal as well as piano for over 30 years. I have taught special needs and have had great success teaching those on the spectrum including ADD, and even several blind students.
Having a family member with Autism gives one experience that is not in a degree. As a music educator I had every child in the school and have had extensive experience teaching piano to students with autism.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
