Hello! My name is Danielle and I am a certified elementary teacher in Michigan. I have 11 years of teaching experience in grades 1, 2, and 5. Since COVID, I have started tutoring students online and in-person in the areas of Spanish reading and writing, English reading and writing, and elementary-level math. I have tutored students in small groups and in one-on-one sessions.
There are several things that I love about tutoring students, especially during one-on-one sessions. I get to know the students intimately; I discover their unique needs and preferences; and I get to share in their joy as they witness their own academic improvements.
I am an experienced and talented writer. During my high school senior year, I was chose by my school's journalist teacher to write articles for our local newspaper. Also, I have written countless research papers for the undergraduate and graduate programs in which I have participated. (I have graduated with honors in all four undergraduate and graduate programs, which require extensive reading and writing.) Finally, I have a master of arts in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) and I have an endorsement in ESL on my teaching certificate.
There are several reasons why I am a great Spanish tutor. First, I have worked in a dual language school teaching Spanish to elementary students for 10 years. Working with younger students means that I must be able to break down complex concepts to a level that is comprehensible to the students. That skill is beneficial to students of all ages. Also, I have studied abroad in the Dominican Republic for a college semester which gave me in-person experience speaking Spanish and learning a culture. Additionally, I have a bachelor of arts in Spanish and have worked in a Hispanic-run non-profit organization which put me in direct contact with Spanish spe
