In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I am a certified Biblical counselor through the American Association of Christian Counselors. I obtained this certification in 2006. In addition, I have 16 years of ongoing, personal Bible Study under my belt. I have conducted evangelistic meetings, I give personal Bible studies, and I have given many sermons.
I am currently a substitute teacher (K-12)in the Hillsdale, Jonesville, Litchfield, Reading, and Homer school districts. I am in my second school year of doing this.
Cross stitching is one of my hobbies. I am currently stitching a fairly complicated picture of a barn owl. I have been stitching for 2 years.
I have been personally studying the relationship between diet and disease for the last 14 years. I have learned that most medical schools in the United States don't offer nutrition classes, and if one does, the requirement is very minimal. People must take the responsibility of learning about their bodies and about the proper nourishment of them for themselves because there is much misinformation regarding nutrition that is marketed as truth in order to appease large government lobbies that profit from the misinformation. I have been involved in conducting healthy cooking seminars over the past 14 years, and I advocate for the use of whole, organic, non-genetically engineered, non processed foods as the best nourishment for humans.
I have taken many psychology classes in college. They include Intro to Psych, Developmental psych, Educational psych, Abnormal Psych, Human Sexuality, and Child Psych.
While working on my undergraduate degree at a Christian University I took a class in religion. Also, between my undergraduate degree and going back to grad school I took a class at the community college on World Religions. In addition, I am actively involved in a community of faith with ongoing personal Bible study.
