In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I minored in art and was taught techniques from very intelligent talented artists who taught me the techniques in how to see the world and interpret it through many different mediums, first and foremost of which is drawing. Drawing is the basis for many if not all art disciplines. Most paintings sculptures and designs start out as a drawing and are further refined from there. I will teach my students to look at the world through the eyes of the artist they are as well as several different techniques such as perspective, shading, dimension, line quality and many more and how and when to apply these techniques. My students will be exposed to a healthy appreciation for drawing whatever their own favorite art medium is.
I have taken many yoga classes and practiced it for ten plus years now, as well as wrote my own (unpublished) beginners yoga guide in an independent study. I started out in gymnastics from ages 5-13 and have taken just about every dance class under the sun, as well as karate and judo, which all employ basic yoga techniques in stretching, warm ups, and execution. I have led several yoga classes and taught many people the basic techniques and theory employed by yoga. I know how to safely teach yoga to anyone who wants to incorporate into their lives.
