I have a State of Michigan Teaching Certificate with Spanish and Mathematics grade 6 - 12 certification.
In particular, I have taught Spanish I, Spanish II, Spanish III and Spanish IV in the classroom at the middle school and high school level. I have also taught Algebra I in the classroom for 4 years. Other shorter term positions have been Geometry, Algebra II, Trigonometry and Pre-Calculus. I have several years of tutoring experience.
My teaching style is adjusted to meet the specific needs of each student. Whenever possible, I prefer to instruct the student so that he/she can visualize the mathematics concepts. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
