I have Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in biology, a minor in chemistry and I worked in the industry as a chemist for over 5 years. I have tutored for more than 3 years now, taught a supplemental genetics class in the past and love helping others to understand and love science the way I do. My daughter has been working with Brigitte and has brought her grade up from a C to a B+. She is flexible, reliable, and my daughter really enjoys working with her!
I was struggling with certain aspects of biology and after meeting with Bridget I was more confident. Bridget was very clear and knowledgeable about the subjects I was struggling with and came prepared with some of her own info to share.
My 15 year old son has worked with Brigitte for several months on his biology. He is currently getting Bs in the class which is great. I over hear the sessions and I am impressed at how she uses other examples to teach and is asking questions and pushing him to answer in his own words verbally to ensure he understands not merely memorizing. He enjoys working with Brigitte and enjoys the success he is seeing. Thank you Brigitte and we would highly recommend her.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have a bachelor's degree as well as a master's degree in biological sciences and have tutored high school and college students in various types of biology for about 5 years.
