I just recently graduated from Calvin College with a major focused on psychology, early childhood development and social work. My first 2 years at Calvin were focused on the educational aspect of teaching early childhood. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I just graduated college with a degree to work with kids who have Autism. I plan to implement my degree doing Applied Behavioral Analysis, in other words, ABA Therapy. I have a passion for Autism and want to make a difference in the lives of those impacted.
During my time at Calvin College, my first two years were spent in the education system tutoring students in elementary. I conducted case studies on children to track their growth in subjects that I tutored them as well as solely focused on growth in the subjects they needed help in. I have work with a variety of aged students in elementary to read, write, spell, pronounce words correctly, as well as math, science and social studies.
