Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

C

I started programming in C back in the early 80's. I have used it to create software from device drivers, old text-adventures (aka MUD's), BBS door game, telnet clients that supported ANSI graphics, as well as various software applications for various clients and employers.

C#

Have used C# for the past seven years, I have written many games with/without XNA, a client/server/networking library technology. I have used it with various employers creating C#/ASP.Net applications.

C++

I have been using C++ since the late 80's and have written GUI based applications, Major BBS Games, MUD's, Telnet Application, a Socket's Library, and have used it at various employers to create in-house applications.

Computer Engineering

I have a master's degree and have been programming, building, troubleshooting, repairing, and using computers since the early 80's. I have seen technology come and go and continue to learn all new technologies that emerge or are in development.

Computer Programming

I have been programming in one language or another since the early 80's, from BASIC to Assembly, PHP to C#, I am also familiar with OOP Methodologies, UML Diagrams, and Design Patterns.

Computer Science

I have an A.A.A.S in computer information systems: programming, a B.S. in game design and simulation, and a master's in game design. I have also been using computers since the early 80's and has been my primary employment field.

DOS

I started with computer during the early years, when DOS was just about the only thing there was. I have had to build new PC's, write/tweak Autoexec.Bat and Config.Sys files. This was a requirement when you added or removed new hardware/software prior and in the early years of Windows. Edlin and Debug were my friends, and I laughed at DOS Shell.

JavaScript

I have worked for several companies as a web developer and have used JavaScript at all of them. I have used it to create form checking and validation for any site I have created. All of these websites were heavily reliant of JavaScript validation. I have also spent a great amount of time, debugging and refactoring JavaScript for my employers and through outside consulting. I am currently a Professional Tutor in Technology at a local University, where I received my Bachelor's degree in Game Design and Simulation.

Linux

I have used one distribution or another of Linux for over 15 years. I have done numerous installs, configuration, and maintenance of Linux server environments. I have configured Mail, FTP, DNS, Apache, Databases, etc... I have installed, configured and maintained a complete Data Center for a Internet Service Provider. I have a Master's degree in Game Design. My Associate's degree in is Computer Information Systems: Programming.

Microsoft Access

I have been using Access since its release. I have tutored it heavily over the past 7 years. I also designed, developed, and maintained an Access project that was used by the Used Woodworking Association where they maintained the inventory of over 20 separate businesses. Through a daily merge routine, inventory was updated from and to the master location and the association members.

Microsoft Windows

I have been using Windows since the beginning the earliest I recall right now was 3.0, 3.1, 3.11, etc... I have worked with all versions of Windows including their short-lived Millenium Edition and rarely migrated to Vista. I am very familiar with Virus/Adware removal and tweaking the registry.

Visual Basic

I have used Visual Basic for over 20 years, I have written many games, a client/server/networking library technology. I have used it with various employers creating VB and VB.Net/ASP.Net applications. I used Visual Basic 6.0 in the banking industry creating in house applications. I have also worked as a contractor debugging applications written in VB and VB.Net.
