I have a Bachelors of Science in Mathematics from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville. I graduated in the summer of 2010. While working on my undergraduate degree I worked as a mathematics tutor my final year at Platteville. I worked with a wide range of students from the math phobic who were only taking a course because they had to to graduate, to other mathematics majors who were just starting off their course work. I enjoyed working with every student that walked through the door and one of my best skills was being able to meet the student where ever they were at. If they were one of the people who were intimidated by mathematics I did my best to take away any fear they were having and strip down the material to the most basic parts so it was more manageable and less overwhelming. For those students that had a full working knowledge of the basics and were working through Calculus course work or above I often found myself spending time to highlight some of the background history/facts that are usually skipped over in the classroom. In any case my students always found success in the classroom after a few sessions with me.
Beyond my hands on tutoring experience I have also been a mathematics tutor online for the last 13 years.
I bring the same energy to the student if I'm working with them online or face to face.
