I am an MBA Graduate from Grand Valley State University working both in sales and running a wearable technology company.
Most of my tutoring experience comes both from mentoring students at GVSU's Teen Entrepreneurship Summer Academy (TESA). I also worked for three years at the GVSU Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation, where my primary responsibility was student mentoring and problem identification.
It is my firm belief that if an individual is able to make a connection in the real world with the material they are learning, it will be significantly easier and more enjoyable to learn such material. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. I currently hold my BA in Management and MBA from Grand Valley State University. For the last four years I have run a startup company which has raised outside capital of over $500k. I have experienced first hand theory to application of supply chain, financial statement interpretation, marketing and fundraising. My teaching process is to help individuals based on their needs and show the relationship between theory and practical implementation.
