About Jacqueline

I bring many years of experience working with students with special needs. I continue to learn new teaching strategies and look for new ideas and techniques, which has built a solid foundation. I have worked in several environments with students with ASD and cross- categorical disabilities. I perform like a seasoned veteran and adapt curriculums to meet the needs of each individual student. The following experiences have made me highly qualified: three years as a teacher for elementary and middle school aged students with autism spectrum disorder at The Lincoln Center in Wyandotte, Michigan, five years with students with autism spectrum disorder in the center- based program at West Bloomfield High School and one year at West Bloomfield's Transition Center working with 18-26 year aged students who have received a Certificate of Completion. I have also worked with home bound students, tutored both in and outside my home and adapt each lesson to meet the students need. Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Autism

I have been a certified teacher for students with ASD for the past nine years. I am able to modify materials and assignments to meet individual needs. I have worked in multiple environments with various ranges of students with autism spectrum disorder. I have determination, desire, motivation and love for teaching students with cross-categorical disabilities.

Elementary (K-6th)

First, I am a special education teacher and work with a diversity of students. Also, I am certified on general education K-5. I have subbed within these grades but not actually taught them.
